Amigo has been building personal mobility scooters in Bridgeport, Michigan since 1968, when founder Al Thieme set out to design a better power-operated vehicle for a family member losing mobility to multiple sclerosis. That original idea grew into a full line of rear-wheel-drive scooters engineered for tight indoor turns, real outdoor range, and decades of dependable service — the same values Electropedic has stood behind since 1964.
Every Amigo we carry rotates a full 360° in the seat, runs on rear-wheel drive for stable handling, and is hand-built and assembled in the USA. Amigo TravelMate
Built for the road, not the hallway — the TravelMate folds flat without taking anything apart and fits in most trunks and cargo areas. Pull the battery and the whole unit drops to 56 lb., light enough to load solo and airline- and train-friendly for travelers who don't want mobility to end at the driveway.

Amigo RT
The RT is Amigo's indoor specialist — a narrow wheelbase built to clear tight hallways and doorways, paired with a 360° rotating seat and adjustable handles so getting on, off, and around the house stays comfortable. Deluxe models add a power elevating seat lift, and a Junior model is available for smaller riders.

Amigo RD

Amigo HD

Amigo Shabbat & Sabbath-Observant Scooters
For Sabbath-observant riders, Amigo builds a dedicated Shabbat option onto its RT, RD, and HD platforms, allowing continued independent mobility through Shabbat without conflicting with the prohibition on melachah ("work"). A dashboard toggle switches the scooter from normal operation into Shabbat mode.
In Shabbat mode, the rider does not directly trigger the throttle to start moving. Instead, a built-in timing circuit automatically sets the scooter into motion roughly ten seconds after the rider takes their seat and stops touching the controls — removing the direct, deliberate act of "turning on" the vehicle that Sabbath observance restricts. The same rear-wheel drive, 360° rotating seat, and up to 500-lb. capacity of the standard RT, RD, and HD carry over unchanged.
